Our flagship winter night returns to the main hall. Two rooms, one long bar, a sound system tuned for a room that was built to echo. Come early for the opening set; stay for the last record.

Sólstafir — Live in the Hall

Icelandic post-metal in a room with a twelve-metre ceiling. Support from a local string trio. Loud, slow, enormous.

bio

Sólstafir bring their cinematic, wind-bitten set to Chinastraat for one night. The hall's natural reverb does half the work — the rest is feedback and patience.

bar bricolage / the venue

Raw space. Real energy.

Bar Bricolage lives in a former workshop on the Chinastraat: bare brick, steel beams, a bar made from salvaged timber. We didn't sand it down — we tuned it. The room does something to sound that a clean box never can.

By day it's a bar and a kitchen. By night it's a club, a stage, a cinema, a dining hall. The furniture is built by hand, often from whatever the neighbourhood threw out. Nothing here is precious; everything is used.

the garden / seasonal

Green days. Golden evenings.

Behind the hall, the garden grows wild and stays that way on purpose. DIY structures, mismatched benches, a stone pizza oven and a stage made of pallets. In summer it's an open-air bar; in shoulder season it's the quietest good idea in Gent.
